Essential Oil Guide

Essential oils are extracted from plants, trees, bark, roots, resins, rinds, leaves, and flowers that are believed to have healing or holistic properties. They can be used in a variety of applications from aromatherapy (such as in a diffuser or our Aromatherapy Shower Steamers) to topical applications.

When used correctly, essential oils are safe. Certain essential oils cannot be applied topically due to their photosensitivity, and different oils can only be tolerated by our skin in different concentrations and that can even vary depending on your skin type and age (oils used on children must be diluted even further to prevent irritations).

We encourage all our customers to only use our essential oil products as designed. Do not make changes to our formulas that would be applied to your skin as this could cause irritation to your skin.

I am NOT an aromatherapist. Our recipes and formulas are the result of hours of research and thorough testing and are generally considered to be safe when used as directed.

Essential oils are not intended for consumption. If you are interested in ingesting essential oils, please consult with a registered certified Aromatherapist (to find one in your area, please visit the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists).

Some essential oils should not be used during pregnancy, around small children, or around pets. Please consult our essential oil descriptions for full details about each oil we use.

All our essential oils are pure, 100% essential oils. Oils used in production and when sold as blends, contain no fillers and are undiluted.

You may have heard of oils that are branded as “therapeutic grade” or “aromatherapy grade”, but unfortunately, there is no governing body that oversees this certification and any branding with this information is for marketing purposes only. While our essential oils are safe for use and pure, we do not use these deceptive marketing terms to describe our essential oils. Oils used in production and when sold as blends, contain no fillers and are undiluted.
